This Gluten & Sugar free apple crumble is delicious, and perfect when you want to impress your guests. It is also perfect for low-carb, keto, gluten free, sugar free and banting lifestyle.



Prep Time: 45 Minutes


(12 Small Pies or 1 Large)


2 box Gracious Bakers Vanilla Biscuits

50 Ml Coconut Flour

5 Ml Nutmeg

5 Ml Cinnamon

200 Gram Butter, melted


1 Tin (385 Gram) Unsweetened Pie apples

50 Ml Currents

10 Ml Chia Seeds

30 Ml Walnuts, pieces

5 Egg Yolks

80 Ml Erythritol or any sugar substitute

3 Ml Nutmeg

3 Ml Cinnamon

50 Ml Cream


Grated Crust Mixture


1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.

2. Crush the Gracious Bakers Vanilla Biscuits and add the butter, coconut flour, nutmeg and cinnamon, blitz until it comes together.

3. Press 1/2 of the mixture into pie dish (+-20 cm) and place in the fridge to set for 15 minutes.

4. Wrap the other 1/2 of crust mixture and place in the fridge for later.

5. Remove the pastry dish from the fridge and pack the pie apples at the bottom of the dish, then the currents followed by the walnuts.

6. In a small bowl beat the egg yolks, erythritol, nutmeg, cinnamon & cream together with a fork and pour over the apples.

7. Remove the crust pastry from the fridge and grate the crust over the top of the apples.

8. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

9. Allow to stand 10 minutes and serve with whipped cream.
